August Favourites 2016

I'm not liking how fast this year is going. I'm already writing up my August favourites! What?! I think I say something like this in every favourite post, but it just comes around so quickly that it amazes me. When August draws to an end it means the end of Summer but Autumn is my favourite season so I've been excited for that ever since August started haha.

Here are my August Favourites...

* Makeup Revolution Fortune Favours the Brave Eyeshadow Palette

This palette was a challenge to get but I finally got my hands on it a few months ago. I've been using this palette a lot recently as this palette has some really nice summery shades so all Summer I've pretty much used Glimmer, Buffer, Ice Cold, Peachy, Soft, Latte, New World and Creme. I absolutely adore these shades as they are subtle and really bring out my eyes.

* Kiko Eyeshadow in 139

This single eyeshadow from Kiko is my absolute favourite right now! I was watching one of FabHan's vlogs (I can't remember which one it was ☹️) and she was showing what she purchased in Kiko and this eyeshadow that she showed really stood out for me, I just had to get it! I'm so in love with it. It's a shimmery pastel pink shade. I love wearing this as a base colour and then using the Fortune Favours the Brave palette Buffer in my crease and Ice Cold or New World to highlight. I loved this makeup look so much I've literally been wearing it everyday. I have a fair few Kiko single eyeshadows but this one will forever be my favourite out of the ones I have.

* Red Raspberry Yankee Candle

Yankee Candle's are my favourite candles until Bath & Body Works ship to the UK! 😂 I love candles scented for the season and even though I haven't used this candle much, the scent is amazing! It smells of well, red raspberry obviously! I could smell it all day. It's gorgeous! This candle is one of my top scents from Yankee Candle. I might do a 'Top # Yankee Candles' blog post to show you what my favourite candles are, maybe seasonally? Let me know what you think!

* Colour Collection Lasting Perfection Concealers

The craze for these concealers is real! Every YouTuber raves about them (even me!) I've tried a lot of concealers from different makeup brands but I'm absolutely stuck to this one. It's so good!
Why do I have 3 different shades though?
Originally I was using 1 Fair. I always choose fair, it's always been good for my skin. However this month I've not been feeling it. I've got to the point where I don't think it's coverage is as outstanding as it use to be. I decided to get the next shade darker. I was looking at the shades and was happy to go for 2 Cool Medium but 3 Warm Medium looked so similar that I decided to get both! I use 2 Cool Medium as my actual concealer rather than 1 Fair but I now strangely use all three concealers in my makeup routine. I use 1 Fair on my eyes, 2 Cool Medium on any redness or pores and 3 Warm Medium on the occasional need more coverage! Ever since I've started this I think my makeup looks so much better.

The Body Shop Haul

As I've mentioned before, The Body Shop is my number one skin care range that I will always go to. I've tried many High Street products, but The Body Shop seems to have that oomph of care that I need. In this post I thought I'd share with you some of the products I purchased from one of my mums friends parties. I was so excited to receive my items and couldn't wait to use them straight away! We got some free gifts that we shared between each other as well which I'll also be showing you.

I purchased the following:

Tea Tree Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser
Tea Tree Skin Clearing Mattifying Toner

The Body Shop recently released a Tea Tree range which I've been thinking about a lot since it's release. I personally am not a huge fan of Tea Tree due to the smell but I really wanted to try something from their range. I decided to go with the simple cleanser and toner as I use these a LOT. I really must say I am impressed. The cleanser is so cleansing and leaves your skin feeling soft and clear. The toner really makes your skin feel clean and healthy. In all honesty, minus the smell, I think I might use these two products a lot more than my other ones that I've been using.

* Seaweed Oil-Control Lotion Moisturiser

This is an absolute holy grail! Admittedly I never took notice of this range because just 'SEAWEED' yeah... 😂 Well as the saying goes 'You can't not like something unless you try it' So I decided to try something small from this range. I'm really impressed with this product as well. IT DOESN'T SMELL OF SEAWEED 🎉 that was my main concern and because of this, I'm now going to investigate their other products in this range! A little bit goes a long way with this product which is good. I love this product so much because it definitely controls the oils on my skin. In the Summer my skin becomes more oily and since using this product I've found that my skin isn't as oily so I've been using this a lot more in my skin care routine. It also has SPF 15 PA++ which provides moderate protection from the sun.

* Big and Curly Mascara

This product was actually given to us as a gift for spending over a certain amount. I'm quite picky when it comes to mascaras. I've only tried this mascara once as I'm currently still hooked to my Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara so I'm not too sure what I think of this product yet. I find that The Body Shop makeup isn't raved about as much as other makeup brands so it's difficult to know what some products are like. I will try and get into a habit of using this product more and hopefully I can use it more often.

* Massager

You know when you've spent, lets say... £24.00 all together and if you spend over £30.00 you get certain products for free so you look around trying to find something for just a few pounds extra to get the free gift? Well this little massager done me that and it's the best thing I've ever purchased! It was one of the first things I tried when the package came. I was rolling it around my face and I fell in love! It's so relaxing and feels like heaven. I just had to pick it up and massage my face now because talking about it makes me want to do it haha! I now can't wait for a proper pamper evening and include this massager in my routine.

* Duo Eye Definer

This was another free item we got. Personally I'm not a fan of pencil eyeliners and I think it's because I've used liquid eyeliner for so long now that I can't go back to using pencil. I use it a lot more on my lower lash line. I love the white end as well! I use this a lot on my lower lash line as well. I really love the shimmery tone it has as it really brightens your eyes up. I don't use this as often but it's really nice to use.

And that was a little bit about everything that I purchased. I hope you enjoyed my post! 😊 If you have any posts/videos you'd like to see, please let me know! I love interacting with all my readers and subscribers.

My First NYX Product - NYX Lingerie Lipstick

I've finally been able to purchase a NYX product wahoo! 🎉 Seeing the lipsticks of the Kylie Jenner dupes and all their other products on Tumblr and Pinterest made me really sad that I couldn't get them as I couldn't find them anywhere and I didn't want to purchase them online without getting a closer look. However, you know how much I love Bluewater! Well the Boots in Bluewater finally have a selection of NYX makeup products and I was so excited when I saw it. It was like heaven to me that I actually squealed.

I didn't have time to look at the whole range of makeup but I mainly focused on the lipsticks. I was looking at the Lingerie collection and decided to give one of them a try. I picked up the shade Honeymoon, a neutral matte colour. I was a bit put off by it at first as it looks like your regular nude lipstick but when I applied it to my lips it came out a bit more grey than nude. I wasn't too sure at first but I've adopted it now as my Autumnal shade and I absolutely love it!

The application of this lipstick is so easy, although I would recommend using a lipliner with these products. The brush is flat and is a bit bigger than most lipstick/lipgloss brushes but it's easy to work with. Once applied and the lipstick is dried you're left with a beautiful matte finish. I've tried many matte lipsticks like this from different brands and once they've dried my lips always feel like I've rubbed chalk over them and I hate that feeling! I'm so happy that this NYX lip product doesn't give you that feel, your lips feel normal.

I honestly can't wait to wear this shade in the Autumn. It's got that really nice tone to it and I'll probably will wear it through the Winter as well.

So after trying this product I've decided I want to try more products from NYX. If you have a product you recommend or a lip shade from the lingerie collection that you'd like me to try, please let me know in the comments below as I want to try new things!
