January Favourites 2015

Hey Guys!

It's the first monthly favourite of 2015! It feels so long ago when I did the last monthly favourite of 2014.

So what are my favourites for January?

Well...

So if you read my blog you'll know that I got this Beauticology Shower Gel in my Christmas stocking last Christmas and I started using it on New Years Eve day and I have continued to use it throughout the most of January. It smells of Strawberry and Pomegranate and I absolutely love it! It's one of those shower gels that make you feel so relaxed and smelling really nice! The only down side to this is the pump. I'm not really for the whole pumping shower gels as I feel that only hand wash soap should have them as you get enough on you hands...not for your body! So I've been unscrewing the bottle and using it like that, but doesn't matter! I still love how long lasting it is! But I feel like I should change and try other scents, so what ones do you recommend?

I'm someone who just doesn't like Olives, and when I accidentally brought this, well, it was pretty amazing really. I applied it to myself thinking it was just a nice a cream smelling body butter and then after applying that's when I found out it was Olive! I really like using body butter from The Body Shop and this one was only £5.00. I've really grown to using it!

So this is what kind of started the whole craze of body butters! My sister got me the Strawberry body butter for Christmas which you can find in The Body Shop. When I first opened the pot I loved the smell! It smelt so strawberrily (new word hah!) I applied this after having my shower and I felt so moisturised for ages! And it feels so good on your body, hence why I keep going back to get more!

Okay, so I got this Rimmel London Foundation from Superdrug for £7.99. I needed a new one because the one I was using before which I have featured in my blog a couple of times was becoming no good to me so it was time for a change! I think this foundation is very long lasting, which it even states this on the bottle so it does what it says! I like to apply my foundation with a clean sponge and I find that it applies well and evenly on my face. I've currently brought the Real Techniques Sponge and it's brilliant with that!

I've also mentioned this before on my blog but I've brought it back because at the start of January I was feeling a bit run down with a cold and Tea Tree always helps to make you breathe better so I thought why not start using this moisturiser again! As soon as I applied it to my face I could smell the slightly strong smell of tea tree as it was on my face and I could feel the sensation of 'I can breathe again!' I got this in Superdrug for £3.29.

I absolutely love dying the ends of my hair! I know its not a good thing but I find that Crazy Color doesn't affect your hair as much as most hair dyes would. So at the start of January I thought I'd go one of the colours that I got for Christmas. It's called 'Bordeaux' Bordeaux is a little town in France where they make wine! And you know how people say that wine stains are really hard to get out? Well... I dyed my hair the night before college and after washing the colour out after I applied it, well it definitely acted like a wine stain indeed! Never experienced a messy colour like this one! My shower ended up turning pink which was bizarre to me because none of the other colours managed to do this. I also always get the colour on my hand, I wear one glove on one hand and leave the other one gloveless so I am able to pick up things without getting colour on them but I do get colour more on my hand! Better the hand than on the bathroom tiles! But normally the colour would was off after a bit of a scrub, but this colour really wouldn't budge! I had to go college with a pink hand, I went on the crazy color website to see how I could remove it and in a few days it eventually died down! Phew! I also washed my hair with cold water to make the colour last longer and it did!

So I mentioned that my face was becoming dry this month and I felt that using a daily moisturiser wasn't going to fix things! I'm sure I've spoken about this product before but this Simple Night Cream really does moisturise your face through the night until you wash it off in the morning, so I've been using more of this lately. I got this in Superdrug for £5.59.

This is the Soap and Glory Mist You Madly Mist Spray. I've only used probably 4 of the average size bottles before but my sister was having a bit of a clear out of products and she asked me if I wanted this 250ml bottle! I immediately said yes. The little bottles that were 100ml ran out quite quick due to me using them quite a lot so when she let me have this one I was so happy! And it's lasting me a long time now. You can find this in Boots for £6.50, or if you prefer you can get the 100ml one for £3.50.

I always save the best until last! And I know it isn't shown in the main thumbnail of this post, I thought it was too big and wouldn't fit in the photo, but here it is! My Yoga Mat! I got this in Asda for £7.00 and I absolutely love it. I never really have new year resolutions but on the at the start of January I decided that this year was a working out sort of year, but that was easier said than done! So I thought buying a yoga mat would motivate me more, and it has! I've been working out everyday since the 16th of January so far! I'm really proud of my self for doing this. Let me know if you would like to see what sort of workouts I do in the comments and I'll do a blog post about it!

I hope you enjoyed the first monthly favourites of 2015! What sort of posts would you like to see me do more of this year?
I hope you enjoy the rest of your week and I shall see you in my next post!

How To Feel Confident About Yourself

Hey Guys,

So today's post is a little bit different to what I usually do but I wanted to talk about something that is really important in itself and wanted to share things with you about it. It's a topic that everyone has trouble with and hopefully having a little read about a few insecurities you might have may make you feel a little better about it, they always say talking to someone helps!

There's a lot of things you can feel insecure about and you can lose so much confidence from this. I've experienced this lately, which is why I've chosen to talk about it. I never really took much notice at first but then I noticed it was occurring more and more and I started to feel self conscious and insecure about it. Naturally I was okay with it, but then I decided to do a table on the pro's and con's of my problem

Here's my table:

'But Jessica, you've missed the Con section'
Yes. Yes I have. This is where we lose our confidence! We mainly only think about the negative side of things which can add up to a lot of things and literally forget about the positive side of things! And I can assure you, having a pros and cons table that only shows the pros really does help, it makes you feel 100% better about yourself, just take the negativity away from it all.

Feeling more confident! ✓

That's my situation but lets talk about others.

So lets have a talk about what we find on the internet... There's definitely a lot of negative photos on Tumblr, I created my title thumbnail from the photos you can find on there. The one that got me more was the 'Am I not good enough for you?' Now this question can relate to anything. I could say 'Am I not good enough for you because my breasts are small?' but instead I won't, why should size matter? Okay so a guy liking bigger breasts finds someone with smaller breasts and puts them down about it makes everything okay? Because I'm certain enough sure that same guy will eat both a big size pepperoni pizza as well as the small size pepperoni pizza. They're different sizes but taste the same. Breasts are different sizes and are exactly the same! Pepperoni and Breasts 1 - Guy 0

Okay, so moving away from the breasts topic, lets talk about a topic that everyone likes to say, a topic that gets people so down and upset, a topic that affects our lives more than you know. 'I'm fat'.
We've all heard it from others, everyone has said it, if you haven't then you've probably thought it but lets bring the three pepperoni's back into mind, same food different size. You are the same human as everyone else just a different size. You are YOU. Things can be done to help, such as going to the gym to lose weight, all you need is A POSITIVE MIND. Motivate yourself to do it, tell your friends and family what you want to do and I am sure they will support you, I definitely will! Don't let negativity bring you down, society is cruel, but if you show your positive attitude towards things then you will overthrow them! That photo they photoshopped of someone looking beautiful and thin in that magazine you read probably took about 10-15 minutes to do and honestly who are they fooling? You can do so much better! With a positive mind and attitude you could look half as better as what they do in just 6 months! They were just airbrushed and that on a computer program and you've actually worked for it! It just takes time, even longer for others but you just have to be patient, the hard work will soon pay off and you'll be feeling more confident that ever!  So no saying 'I make elephants look skinny'

'What if I hate who I am?'
Let me stop you right there. Throughout this post I've only mentioned being positive about things, the word 'hate' comes across as negative. You are NOT fat, ugly, foolish, fussy, lazy, selfish, stingy, timid or any other word that someone calls you, you are YOU and only you can be you so lets keep that little you happy and proud of their self. Look into your mirror and say 'Positive thoughts generate positive feelings and attract positive life experiences' say it over and over until the words don't even sound like words anymore!

If people say these things to you reply with 'And?'

"You're fat" 'And?'
"You're ugly" 'And?'
"You're beautiful" 'And?'
"You're amazing" 'And?'
This definitely gets the person thinking because you've responded differently and haven't let it get to you!

A massive encouragement right here!

'So how can I be happy?'
Stop comparing yourself to others. Flaunt what you have and show the world that you are a better person, love yourself for what you have and most of all have a positive mind and smile! Always smile! Because haven't you got to smile to be happy? :) Take a long deep breath and clear the negativity away. Even the word negative! All about being POSITIVE now girls!

What have you learnt?

*Have a positive mind ✓
*Don't compare yourself to others ✓
*I'm me and only ME can be me. ✓
*I can succeed if I try ✓
*I'm not what the others say I am ✓
*Negativity is a bad thing ✓
*Always think about the positives and not the negatives ✓

If you can tick them all then Well Done! :)
I can feel the positive feels already! If you found this post helpful or want me to talk about another topic related to this kind of post please do not hesitate to ask me, I will be more than welcome to! We are all here for each other and I will always support you through anything.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your day and remain positive throughout! I'll see you in my next post!

January Mini Haul

Hey Guys,

I recently went shopping, so I thought I would do a 'January Mini Haul'! I only went into a few shops, I wasn't really suppose to buy anything but with a few sales and some things that I thought were cute or needed I kind of had to! I'm terrible with that sort of stuff haha! I just love shopping!

Okay, so before I went anywhere I quickly stopped off in Sally's! The reason I went here was because Crazy Color released some Valentine colours, so I thought it would be nice to have a Valentine colour for Valentines day! I have so many colours I know! I got the Crazy Color Ruby Rouge for £6.98. If you would like to know how I apply this to my hair by myself then let me know in the comments and I shall make a tutorial.
After finding the Crazy Color I took a stroll around the shop and found some nail polishes. Another thing I tend to buy a lot of! I was looking at the sample nails to show you what the colour came out like and I was really attracted to this Nina Ultra Pro nail polish. It's so pink and glittery and I love wearing it! I got this for £4.19.
That was my little trip to Sally's done! ✓

I then drove my self to a little shopping mall with my friend to do a little bit of shopping. This is where I 'wasn't going to buy much but lets go home with nearly everything' happened. So the first thing I purchased was the Real Techniques Sponge which I got from Boots for £5.99. Everyone has been talking about it recently so I wanted to give it a try! If you want me to review this sponge let me know!
I then went to The Body Shop and basically went crazy in there! I really loved the Strawberry Body Butter that my sister got me for Christmas and then I ended up actually finding my favourite scent of all time in the Body Butter! I really love the Papaya Shower Gel, I'm in love with it so when I found that this Papaya Body Butter was reduced from £13.00 to £6.50 I definitely had to buy it! And I'm madly in love with it! Still shopping around The Body Shop I was having a little nose of their little body butters (not like I need another one) I wasn't too keen on a few but I came across this 'normal cream smelling' body butter (my friend was even sure it smelt like normal cream) I've used it once. I tend to forget that with the little body butters the scent name is on the back in small print so once I actually applied it and remembered where the scent name was it actually was Olive! Yes I know OLIVE! It's not actually too bad at the moment but it's still the thought of it. I got this for £5.00.
My next and final purchase was a bit different. I've always wanted a pair of glasses to wear as a fashion statement, crazy I know. Glasses don't tend to suit me but I found these Star Glasses in Claire's Accessories for £6.00. I'm wearing them in the photo below them and I think they look super cute and it's just a bit different. I don't wear them all the time, only when it suits the outfit that I want to wear.
Shopping done!  ✓

I hope you enjoyed my January Mini Haul! May have more hauls to come depending on when I go shopping! If you'd like any tutorials or reviews on anything please let me know in the comments!

Have a great week, and I'll see you in my next post!

What was your best purchase this January?

New Look - Winter Wishlist 2015

Hey Guys,

In today's post I thought I'd share with you a Winter Wishlist that I created from one of my favourite clothes shop New Look. A lot of my clothes are from New Look so making a Wishlist this Winter was great for me! I found most of the stuff online but I've also browsed them in store as well.

So on my Wishlist this Winter I chose:

*Diamond Sequined Hat that I found for £4.00. I really like the colour of this hat and the fact that it has diamond sequins on it makes it look a whole lot cuter! It would be so nice to wear on those snowy days.
*Diamond Sequined Mittens that I found for £3.00. Can't really have a hat without a matching pair of mittens now, can we? What I love about these mittens is that you can still use your phone if you button the mitten to the glove. However I tend to use my thumb most of the time for my phone so gloves like these aren't really ideal, but then when I actually find gloves like this where I can use my thumbs I can only cover my fingers with the mittens and my thumb just gets left in the cold. Has anyone else experienced this?
*Studded Hair Bow that I found for £2.00. I've been really obsessed with hair bows lately and finding this cute studded bow made me happy. I know I have a fair few, but what's one more to lose?
*Boots that I found for £27.99. I absolutely love these. They definitely are similar to Timberland boots. You can get these boots in burgundy as well. I actually tried both of them on at the same time, I had the tan colour boot on one foot and the burgundy on the other foot, crazy I know! They were both a size 3 and I'm unfortunately a size 4 but I was really surprised that I fitted well into them still! If I ever come across a pair in my size I will definitely have to buy them!
*Bag that I found for £24.99. I have my moments with bags. I'll have one for a few months and then change and sometimes I don't actually know how often this change is. When I saw the colour of this back I was automatically in love with it, I just love the shade of blue! Definitely a must have for Summer as well!
*Grey Crop Top that I found for £12.99. At first I was a bit like 'Crop top? In Winter? Really?' But then I thought it would really go well with a pair of high waisted jeans. I really love the grey sort of coloured jumpers.
*Pink Blouse that I found for £17.99. If you know me, you would know that I wear blouses quite a lot. So finding this pink pastel blouse was great! I would definitely wear it a lot in the Spring as the colour is perfect for it!
*Black Jeans that I found for £24.99. I'm not really a Jean person, but I thought these would look different than the Jeggings that I normally wear. I felt like I needed a change in wardrobe!
*Wellies that I found for £17.99. I saved the best until last! I'm actually in love with these Wellies and I think I'm going to have to end up actually buying them! I've been trying to find them for about 3 days now before I buy them online. I think it's a good time of year to have Wellies due to the Snow and Rain and I haven't worn a pair of Wellies for years! So these are a definite must have at the moment and I will find them and have them! Wellies are a must!

I hope you enjoyed this sort of post, I have similar post like these coming in the near future. I'd also like to say thank you for getting me to 300 followers! You don't understand how much that means to me! Honestly, thank you! I have so much more to come.
Enjoy your day, and I'll see you in my next post!

NOTD - Velvet Chic

Hey Guys,

I thought I'd do a quick post showing you the colour of my nails today! It is NYC 365 Velvet Chic and I love the fact that it is a pastel grey! It's perfect for Winter!

I chose this colour because it's been grey and gloomy these past few days so I was feeling this colour for today. This is also a colour that I would wear in Winter anyway as it is a cold colour. This nail polish dries really fast as its part of the NYC nail polish 'Minute Quick Dry' range and as you know I am a very big fan of the NYC nail polish collection, if you have seen my post! And it also lasts a long time as well! I got this in Superdrug for £1.79

I hope you liked this small post of my nails today! If you'd like to see more post like these then let me know in the comments!
Enjoy the rest of your week, and I'll see you in my next post!

Memories of 2015 Jar DIY

Hey Guys,

Today I thought I'd do a DIY post as it is something that I haven't done in a while. I made this 'Memories of 2015' Jar. It's also a good time of year to post this seeing as we have just started the New Year. It's cute room decor and it was so easy to make!

To create this you will need:
*A jar of any kind
*White paper
*Paper card (choice of any colour)
*Felt tip pen (choice of any colour)
*Post-it notes
*Sellotape or Glue

How to do this:

1.)  The first thing I did was measure the length of the white paper to see if it fitted around the jar, which it didn't so I knew I'd have to cut an extra bit of paper to join onto it. I then measured how thick I wanted the strip of paper. When I was happy I then cut the strip of paper as well as the extra piece and stuck them together. I then wrapped it around the jar to see how it would fit, when I was happy with that I stuck the paper to the jar using the sellotape.

2.) I then got a pink bit of card (you can use any colour you would like) and I measured it to be half the size of the white paper strip around the jar, this was so it could be stuck in the middle and make the jar look extra cute! I stuck this down the same way as I did the white paper.

3.) I then used the white paper to cut out a random cloud like shape and traced this shape also on to a purple bit of card. I cut both of them out, making sure that on the purple card I cut the shape out a tiny bit bigger so I could use it as the background of the title making it stand out more.
When I stuck down the purple card I used sellotape, I double sided it so it wasn't visible, but if you have double sided tape then you can use that!

4.) Before sticking on the white paper on top of the purple card you want to write something meaningful on it using the felt tip pen. I wrote 'Memories of 2015' because I plan to write all the wonderful things that happen to me in 2015 and pop them in the jar, but you can write what ever you want! Another idea would be 'The Best of 2015'

5.) Using Post-It Notes, write the memories along with the date it happened. Here's an example of a memory that happened in 2014.
I like the idea of using Post-It Notes because when you fold them up the top of the note gets stuck together and keeps the memory sealed until you open it, which will be 31.12.15!

And there you have it! A cute Jar soon to be filled with all the memories that will happen this year. I've already got one thing in my Jar! Can't wait for more.

And this is what it looks like on my shelf.

I hope you liked this cute and simple DIY. I can't wait to fill it up and read them all at the end of the year! If you try this DIY I would love to see your creations! You can do this by tagging me on Instagram @JessicaRachelxo with the hashtag #JessicaxoDIY

Take care and I shall see you in my next post!

What was your favourite memory of 2014?

The Winter Tag

Hey Guys,

Today I thought I would do 'The Winter Tag' as it is Winter and I thought I'd share with you what I love about Winter and it's a nice way to start January off with something Winter related! So lets start!

1.) What’s your favourite Winter nail polish?
For Winter I like to wear colours such as greys and blues and maybe purple. I like to stick to the cold colours in Winter. My main colour would be grey though.

2.) Favourite Winter lip product?
My favourite lip colour this Winter would have to be the NYC Gramercy Park Plum. I think wearing dark lipstick in the Winter is for essential than wearing a lighter colour.

3.) Most worn Winter clothing piece?
My most worn clothing piece this Winter I'd have to say is my new purple snood that I purchased in the sales after Christmas. I never stop wearing it. I wasn't a fan of those sort of scarves before but now I really love them and I want to buy more of them!

4.) Most worn Winter accessory?
I struggled with this question a little bit, so I want to say my snood again! haha

5.) Favourite Winter scent/candle?
My favourite Winter scent would have to be the smell of those little huts in town where people are roasting honey roasted nuts! I'm not a fan of them but the smell is honestly like heaven and I love it! Such a glorious smell!
6.) Favourite Winter beverage?
Oh I really love a Nutella hot chocolate! I make it my self from scratch and I've been doing it for a couple of years. If you want to know how I make this then let me know in the comments below and I'll make a post about it!
7.) All time favourite holiday movie?
My all time favourite holiday movie would probably still have to be Frozen! It's such a fun film to watch. And even though Summer has been frozen it gets you into the Wintry feels and just makes you want to snuggle up with a hot chocolate and blanket and be warm while watching it.
8.) Favourite holiday food/treat?
My favourite holiday food/treat would probably have to be anything that can keep me warm! I love coming in from the freezing cold and then having eating something warm to warm me up. I love the feeling that it gives you.
9.) What’s at the top of your wishlist?
I could probably go on because  my wishlist is probably the longest thing ever! I'm planning a lot for my blog this year so I'm hoping that will work out.
10.)  Your plans for Winter Holidays?
There's only now two days left of the Winter holidays, but for the rest of Winter I'm going to plan more blog posts and hopefully have a YouTube channel coming! So that will be exciting!

I tag:
Evan from thecornerstoneforthoughts
Carmen from itscarmen
And anyone else that wants to do The Winter Tag
I hope you enjoyed this post and I'll see you in my next post!

New Year 2015 OOTN

Happy New Year Guys!

It's finally 2015! A start of a new year and new beginnings. I've finally shut down the 2014 post column on my blog and now it's finally the 2015 column. Another year of blogging!

In this post I decided to share with you what I wore out for New Years Eve this year.

This year I wasn't really up for celebrating but I thought I might as well go out as it is New Year and you only every get a night out like that once a year so I decided in the end that I should go out.

My Outfit:

I do apologise for the bad lighting, but this is what I wore.

Top: New Look - Price Unknown
Jeans: Topshop - £38.00
High Heel Boots: New Look - £27.99

My Nails:

This is how I had my nails for New Year. I painted my nails black, applied two coats of silver glitter on top of the black and then stuck two sequin stars and small sequins on my thumb and ring finger.

My Make Up/Hair:

My make up was natural as I didn't want it to be too bold. I straightened my hair and wore it down, as well as twisting my fringe over to the side. Simple but cute.

This year I was quite laid back for New Year and I kept it simple. I was sticking to a black and silver kind of theme. I had a lovely New Year and I hope next year I'll be more in the celebrating mood! So let's make this year a fantastic year! I hope you all had a fabulous New Year!
I'll see you in my next post!

What did you do for New Years?
