September Favourites 2014

Hey Guys,

It's the end of the month which means it's time for a Monthly Favourite post! I began panicking about this post and I do apologize for the photo quality, I've been at college finishing in the evening as well as finishing work in the evening and now it's starting to get dark then the photo quality wasn't as good as I expected it to be but I tried my best. I was going to post this post tomorrow but it didn't feel right for me. I needed to end September properly with a September post!
I also haven't got as many products this month due to the fact that I haven't had time and I haven't been out shopping because I now finish work and college around or after shops have shut so I miss out on things now! But I'm shopping tomorrow so expect a shopping haul of some sort soon!

Let's begin with the Monthly Favourites I have chosen for this month;

This is the Quick Fix Facial Mask for Dry and Thirsty Skin that I got in Boots for £3.00. I mentioned this product back in 'My Shower Routine' post in May, and I have brought it back to use this month as my face was feeling a bit dry from where I was feeling ill so after I felt a little better I pampered my self for about 10 minutes. It really worked a treat!

As you've seen in other post, this foundation creeps up a lot! I mentioned the same foundation in my 'December Favourites' post however it was the 'Natural' colour foundation and seeing as Boots had sold out of that colour I had to settle for the 'Soft Ivory' one, but don't get me wrong, it is quite a good foundation and it still matches my skin type! I got this for £6.49.

I only started using this product this month and made a review of it in my last post and now it's made it to my Monthly Favourites! Check out my review to find out more about this product.

I've started a new facial product brand again. I thought I would give Superdrug's Tea Tree facial products a go, and my first thoughts on this moisturizer was amazing! It's like the feeling of having a cold and sniffing tea tree oil to make you breathe more clearer, but contract that feeling onto your face, it feels amazing! It's lasted me all month and I'm still going so it's very long lasting! I can't remember the price and it doesn't appear to be on the website, but if you get the chance to go into Superdrug then definitely have a look for this moisturizer!

And then you should definitely get the Tea Tree Facial Wipes as well! I'm someone who has to have facial wipes that aren't so harsh to my face. My mum has had wipes before that just feel rough and sensitive so I stay away from those. I thought the smell of the Tea Tree would be quite off putting, even with the moisturizer, but I find it surprisingly quite relaxing! I got these at Superdrug for £2.99.

This is my last product of the Tea Tree collection that I got. The Foam Facial Wash was something different as I always tend to use creamy facial washes or gel, so I thought I would give foam a try... and I love it! Tea Tree makes your skin very soft and clear so I definitely would recommend the Tea Tree products, I'll be buying more products and sharing them with you soon! I got this from Superdrug for £3.29.

I do apologize for the photo quality! I didn't even get a photo of all the products together because it was so bad. I need to invest in a better camera rather than using my iPhone camera and just relying on natural lighting.
October starts tomorrow so expect a lot of Autumn related things as well as Halloween nail art and all sorts!

I'll see you in my next post!

John Frieda - Frizz-Ease 3 Day Straight Review

Hey guys,

I thought I would post a review today as I haven't done one of these post in a while. I am currently off ill as well but I have finally gotten slightly better and well enough to post! Yay!

So I'm going to review is the John Frieda Frizz-Ease 3 Day Straight hair product.

My first thoughts on this was just...Wow! I really noticed a difference. Normally when I blowdry my hair I end up having to tame down the mane haha. It says to spray 14 to 16 times on wet hair and then blowdry and straighten in. So the first time I did it I was amazed that when I blowdried my hair it was less of a lions mane than I am used to! So I was really happy about that. This product really does work and I only had to go over my hair with the straighteners in the morning from where I'd been sleeping on it, but other than that it really did keep straight! Also this product doesn't weigh your hair down which is good.
The packaging of the product like a shiny purple and holds the bottle well. I'm someone who would throw away the packaging anyway but for this I've actually kept it due to the fact it's quite pretty packaging and I also put the bottle back in the packaging if I'm not using it and can store it in my product draw.
You can get the John Frieda Frizz-Ease 3 Day Straight product from anywhere that sells hair products. I got mine from Morrisons for £6.00 and I will definitely be buying this hair product again once I have run out.

I hope you enjoyed this short little review. I currently have Shellac on my nails so if you'd like me to review that as well let me know, and stick around for more posts to come!

See you in my next post!

Easy Minnie Mouse Inspired Nail Art

Hey Guys,

I've officially been blogging for a year! So today I wanted to share with you this cute Minnie Mouse inspired nail art look. I did this a few weeks ago which I am so thankful for as my nails are now really short! So time to let them grow again for more nail tutorials.

I really love Disney! And I felt like it was time to do a bit of Disney nail art on my nails as I haven't really tried it before. It was my first attempt so I do apologize if it doesn't look very good but I'm still proud of how well it turned out. And you won't believe how easy it is to do!

To achieve this look I used:

1.) I started off by cleaning my nail from any previous polish and then applying a base coat and then a coat of glitter nail polish.
2.) Once that had dried I then painted the tip of my nail with the red nail polish.
3.) Using any size dotting tool according to your nail size or width of the red polish, dot polka dots to represent Minnie Mouse's polka dot bow.
4.) Using the same dotting tool, in the corner dot three dots to make the face of Mickey Mouse in black.

I really enjoyed this nail art because it was quick and fairly easy. I definitely will be trying other Disney nail art designs as well. I hope you enjoyed this quick little tutorial!

I'll see you in my next post!

What's In My Hair Kit Bag

Hey Guys,

So I have now officially started college. So I'm going to try my best to be active this month! I've only been at college for two days and already have 5 assignments to do! Mental!
In this post I will be sharing with you what I take to college in my hair kit bag. Now, I didn't plan for this to happen but then I went a long with it, but I had three items that were purple and kind of just ended up buying everything else purple. So now I have a purple kit! But I'm happy with it.

Most of my equipment is from either my local Sally's Hair shop, eBay, from Salon International, or from the hair kit through the college. I'm sure you can find most of it on eBay though.

I got this Leopard print bag at my local Sally's store. I needed a new bag for my equipment and the only bag that everyone seemed to be buying was a Zebra print bag. I'm someone who doesn't follow the crowd and I most certainly didn't want to end up picking up the wrong bag so I went to Sally's and ended up finding this Leopard print one. You can no longer find this bag anymore, not even on eBay but I did find the Zebra print bag which you can purchase here for roughly the same price. It's suitable for Level 2 hairdressing.

My pink water spray bottle I purchased from Salon International 2012 when I was doing Level 1 Hair and Beauty. I can't remember the price I paid, but it certainly has been used all through my hairdressing course years! I had a look on eBay and I couldn't find it on there either, however there are a lot of different water spray bottles that you can purchase that can be similar or if you want a different shape. This was probably my first item I bought for my kit minus the equipment I had from the college.
These purple clips that I use on short hair are from eBay! Yay! Finally somewhere you can purchase! You can get them here. I haven't used these clips yet as I bought them for my Level 3 course for this year, but I have used these sorts of clips before and I do find them really handy when cutting shorter hair.

This is my clippers. You don't start clippering hair until Level 2. What I like about hairdressing is that no one will ever have the same equipment as you as some people may like plain colour equipment such as black...or maybe purple, there's a wide variety of clippers as well. You can buy these ones here.

Scissors is probably the best part of hairdressing! You can get Zebra printed scissors, multi-coloured scissors and so much more! It's so hard to decide because you just want them all!
My first scissors are the smaller scissors with the blue around where the fingers go. I got these in my kit in Level 1 but didn't use them until Level 2 due to transferring colleges. The black glitter hole ones my dad actually got me them for Level 3 so I don't know where he got them from, but if you want to find scissors and thinning scissors as well then eBay is a good website, there are also other hairdressing related websites that have good quality scissors as well, Salon International sell scissors as well.

I got this cute BaByliss blow dryer on eBay. I couldn't find it on eBay now to include it in my post for you. I got this for Level 3 so I haven't used it at all on anyone yet, but I'm really looking forward to it!

I love these purple brushes! I was planning to get them on eBay but a few days after finding them on the internet I found them in Salon International 2013 so I purchased them, and I'm so glad I did! I've used these quite a lot blow drying at college and I can't wait to continue using them through Level 3! You can get them here. You can also get pink!

I got my Magicap at my local Sally's and I've probably only used it once or twice, it's the most easiest thing to do and hopefully Level 3 I will be able to use it more! All caps are relatively the same and the only down side to it is when you first purchase it you have to poke through every single hole in the cap, so just make sure you have a lot of time and effort for that!

As with the brushes the same thing happened with these. I was planning to get them on eBay but I went to Salon International and ended up purchasing them there. There was a baby blue set which I think I might purchase at this years Salon International. You can get the pink ones here.

I'm really sorry about these hair straightners I purchased them from a temporary hair shop which is now closed down and I can't even remember the price of them. I never used them as I always use my GHD's but when I started hairdressing I thought I would start to use these for a change. They are really good to use and they are....PURPLE!

I got this dressing out comb from Superdrug for £4.29. I wasn't intending to buy one for Level 2 as I thought Level 3 would be the year to use it, but I got it in the end because we were creating a style that involved using a dressing out comb like this. I never used it again after that so hopefully this year Level 3 I will use it more often!

I got both the bowl and the brushes at Sally's. I wanted a mixture of coloured brushes rather than the pink brushes because I thought it would look better. There's different types of bowls and brushes that you can get anywhere so go wild and find one you love!

I'm obsessing with purple again. I got these on eBay here. I've only just got them new for Level 3 so I haven't used them yet, but I can't wait to use them! I love having a fresh new kit!

I hope you enjoyed my post of me sharing with you what I have in my hair kit and I'm sorry that some items I couldn't write much about them as I've only just purchased them for this year. I'll try my very hardest to keep updating though!
Thank you so much and I'll see you in my next post!
